Provide Water for the World

Target: U.S. Senate
Sponsored by: The ONE Campaign
In his Inaugural Address, President Obama said, “let clean waters flow.” With those words, he brought recognition to the suffering of 884 million people who do not have access to clean water and 2.5 billion without adequate sanitation.

Senators Durbin and Corker introduced S. 624, The Senator Paul Simon Water for the World Act of 2009, a bipartisan bill to make clean water a reality. But with only five cosponsors, the bill isn’t getting the attention it needs for a hearing and further action by Senate leaders. It must have at least 20 cosponsors to move forward. Read more…

ABDF.org has also worked in our particular area of focus, Sri Lanka, to help provide clean drinking water in various forms, mainly by paying for the installation of various types of wells that can reach the potable water that is already available.

You can read about two recent water-related projects: the Selwenthiran Family Project and the Navatkadu Water Project.

Please review the ABDF.org Project page to see what other projects we’re looking to fund. ABDF.org focuses on generating donations for project that cost less than $1500 USD total. This way we can provide immediate help to the people of Sri Lanka, many of whom are still affected by the devastation of the 2004 tsunami.

Please donate generously.

Thank you!
