Help Sri Lanka: Small Projects, Immediate Impact
Welcome to ABDF.org! — ABDF.org was formed by Bennett Hinkley, with the help of several friends and colleagues, after he visited the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka and saw first-hand the devastation caused by the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami that caused such large-scale tragedy across most of the Asian coastline.
Students at Vantharumoolai school.ABDF.org is dedicated to raising funds to donate to small-scale projects that are needed by the people of this region of Sri Lanka. Our projects have a maximum total of $1,500USD, which means that donations can quickly match the need of each project and create immediate benefits for the people of Batticaloa.

A Word from the Executive Director
ABDF.org as a regional partner
August 5th, 2009ABDF.org was approached by an Australian NGO, NTA East Indonesia Aid, to meet and share best practices. Melton Cartes, ABDF’s Development Director and I had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Colin Barlow and his wife about the founding and maturation of NTA during a recent visit to San Francisco.
Among items discussed was the concept of building trans national partnerships while retaining the culture of a small, independent NGO. ABDF highly values the concept of tangible, transparent projects and the opportunity to scale impact with a partner can both complement and challenge this culture.
